Cosmosphere was created to introduce the Cosmos ecosystem to new builders in Türkiye and turn curiosity into real ecosystem participation. Rather than positioning itself as a conference for insiders, the event was designed as a large-scale onboarding summit where developers, students, and blockchain enthusiasts could meet the leading figures of Cosmos and understand the ecosystem from the ground up. From the beginning, the goal was clear: bring new faces into Cosmos and give them a strong first entry point into the interchain world.
The event took place on October 1, 2023, at Grand Pera Emek Sahnesi in Istanbul and brought together more than 700 participants, 12 speakers, and 22 partners. Organized by node101 together with the Interchain Foundation, Cosmosphere featured major Cosmos voices including Ethan Buchman, Zaki Manian, Marko Baricevic, and Jack Zampolin, and created a public-facing introduction to topics such as Cosmos SDK, CometBFT, and IBC in a format designed especially for beginners.
Cosmosphere was supported by a broad set of ecosystem partners spanning both global Cosmos organizations and local community groups. Across internal event materials, the event is associated with Interchain Foundation, Cosmoverse, Agoric, Nolus, and OmniFlix, as well as Turkish university blockchain communities and local media and community partners. That mix gave the event both international ecosystem weight and strong local reach.
As node101, we built Cosmosphere as a flagship onboarding event for the Cosmos ecosystem in Türkiye. Our role covered the event end to end: shaping the concept, positioning the summit for beginners, coordinating with ecosystem partners, bringing leading speakers to Istanbul, and turning the event into a structured entry point for people meeting Cosmos for the first time. In that sense, Cosmosphere was not only an event organization effort, but a community-building and ecosystem expansion project.
