Modapalas is a community-led hub for blockchain developers, researchers, and founders in Istanbul. Since 2022, it has brought people together through recurring meetups, hackathons, technical workshops, cryptography sessions, and social gatherings.

More than an event venue, Modapalas is an environment where ideas become projects and projects grow into startups. Its partnerships across the blockchain space, and the more than $17 million collectively raised by startups emerging from its community, reflect its lasting role in Istanbul’s builder ecosystem.

Modapalas Monthly Gatherings

Since 2022, Modapalas has regularly brought blockchain developers, founders, and researchers together for evenings of conversation, learning, and community. The relaxed format gives participants space to share ideas, discuss emerging technologies, present projects, and meet others building across the ecosystem.

From technical discussions and project updates to conversations on the terrace, Modapalas Monthly Gatherings strengthen the local blockchain community and create the conditions for new collaborations. More than 30 companies and organizations, including Ethereum Foundation, Sui Foundation, and Cosmos Labs, have supported the gatherings.

Blackboard Cryptography Sessions

Blackboard Cryptography Sessions are one of Modapalas’ most focused learning formats. These sessions bring the community together to explore the foundations of cryptography, privacy, zero-knowledge proofs, and the mathematical ideas behind modern blockchain systems.

Rather than being formal lectures, the sessions are built around open discussion, shared learning, and deep technical curiosity. Participants study complex concepts together, break them down step by step, and connect theory with real-world applications in decentralized technologies. Hackathons

Collaborations with ecosystem partners such as Celestia, Aleo, and Mina Protocol give developers opportunities to explore new tools, tackle real problems, and build in a focused environment.
